What happens to self-proclaimed rock chick who feels the metaphysical pull? The result is Tatiana Angel Music. Born Tatiana Scavnicky in the Detroit suburbs she grew up in the ‘80s rocking out to the music of the ’60s and ‘70s southern rock. While her friends cruised the mall and listened to Madonna, Whitney and Tiffany, Tatiana was absorbing the sounds of Bonnie Raitt, James Brown, Led
Zeppelin, Crosby Stills and Nash and Tina Turner. The edgy soulful rock sound of Bad Company’s Paul Rogers was one of her greatest influences. Early on she wanted a career in music. After answering a newspaper ad at 15, she found herself singing lead in a 70s cover band by night, high school student by day. After graduation, her parents thought college, Tatiana had chosen a different path. By 18 she was a veteran in the local Detroit music scene – fronting southern rock, pop and rock and roll
bands. Her big voice, black-clad wardrobe and tough rocker chick persona got her
noticed. Ultimately, Tatiana became lead singer and keyboardist in a traveling show band. The group played gigs in California, Arizona and as far away as Rome. By the mid-nineties Tatiana began to feel like a ‘human jukebox’. She no longer got any pleasure singing big Led Zeppelin songs and cover tunes while the audience got drunk. Songs with a deeper meaning where what she craved, but finding her niche was difficult as she was continuing to evolve. “I always knew things about people. I knew they were sick. I could sense what was going on in their relationships with other people. I can only describe it as feeling or intuition”. As she performed rock anthems, she held a feeling something else was coming through the music. The answer lay in her home studio. Always a writer of poetry, she began to take her words and set them to music with a rock and roll/spiritual blend. The black clad tough rock chick began to lighten up. These songs meant something as they were coming through her. Finally she found a niche that felt right. She submitted a song to the Virginia Slims Dueling Divas contest, a local women in rock competition. Her song "Air Fire Water Earth" touting the passion and love between people and the universe took home the prize. Today Tatiana splits her professional time between the worlds of rock and metaphysics. A licensed Angel Therapy Practitioner and Medium, Tatiana is a staff member to best selling Hay House author Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. She also has a busy private Angel Therapy practice giving readings, featuring a meditation CD” Affirmations from the Magical Garden” as well as workshops on “Connecting with Your Angels”. In addition to performing at her workshops, her solo music career is as active as ever. She is currently recording a new CD in the Angel Earth Studios and performing at intimate concert venues. |
